The PA Research Foundation (PARF) is a charity that advances world class medical research, patient care and treatment methods at the Princess Alexandra Hospital campus, home of the world’s first cancer vaccine, Gardasil.
We receive no government funding; instead, we work hand-in-hand with our individual donors, community supporters and partners. Together with this wonderful support we raise funds towards:
- Donor directed medical research projects, that are both new and translational in focus. We are committed to supporting bench to bedside research that fosters collaboration and brings new and better treatments and methods of care to patients.
- Specialist equipment sitting outside of Queensland Health budgets to help provide more efficient and effective methods of diagnosis, treatment and care.
- Training, scholarships and professional development opportunities for PA Hospital campus staff, helping to build knowledge and experts in field.
- Patient-centred care initiatives that support the comfort and wellbeing of patients and their families.
PARF do not fund anything that government budgets provide, rather, we are committed to funding value adding extras and initiatives that would otherwise not be available to patients and their families at the PA Hospital.
